Love ❤️ this section of the Blackrock greenway & the sweep down to the Marina. Frosty morning & a bunch of 🧍‍♀️🧍🧍‍♂️ on 🚲 going to work & school safely away from 🚗🚙. Getting a bit of fresh air & exercise. It's about 0°C/32°F at the time. We get almost everywhere within 15 mins because of this route.

Imagine if we had a gov that spent as much on public transport rollout as they do on roads for mainly cars.

I dont know how the Hoxton hotel saw this playing out but I'm guessing that the fact that it is now being called The Poxton is sub optimal for them.

Something a lot of people have known for a very long time that the RSA is not fit for purpose, yet Government did a u-turn on breaking it up.

The current irony of AI I see is that it is possible right now to use it to lighten loads in roles. If you did that you'd then be fired by HR for getting AI to do your job. But orgs are actively trying to use AI to reduce headcount which will result in AI doing your role.

The proposed LNG terminal in Ireland is quite simply a form of tribute to be paid to the US. It will not improve Ireland's energy security and will increase both CO2 emissions and consumer costs. Let's spend the money on decarbonisation instead (will our bosses in Washington let us?).
Government’s plan to import LNG for electricity generation would cost households and businesses up to $8.3bn

Same volume of electricity could be delivered through a $2.5b investment in rooftop solar panels and hot water heat pumps

A new report argues New Zealand can meet its looming energy shortfall by accelerating rooftop solar and electric hot water

Simon Harris just watched Holly Cairn’s speech at the @social-democrats.bsky.social conference and noticed that there are 100s of billions of euros sitting in bank accounts doing nothing. He wants to divert it to other financial products so that it won’t be available for a public housing fund.
Simon Harris wants to incentivise savings and investment in Ireland, admitting that Ireland is 'laggards at a European level'.

'I want to squeezed middle who are putting money in the credit union or the bank account to actually make money,' he said jrnl.ie/6958083
Simon Harris wants the 'squeezed middle' to be able to make substantial return on investments
Harris mentioned tackling issues like deemed disposal, or perhaps having lower tax rates for certain amount of money saved or invested.

Straight out of the Tories political strategy. Cut services then when General Election comes around tell people they're increasing those services they shredded. Cheers all round from the dumb voters who keep voting these FFG gowls in.

Irish Aviation Authority are planning to restrict air space in the city to facilitate a single takeaway-food company.

Everyone else will lose access to the skies they have now, including photographers, tradespeople, volunteers.

Newspapers have two kinds of writers.

They have “This thing happened” ones and they have “That’s what I think, anyway” ones.

And, somehow, the That’s What I Think, Anyway ones have greater pay and prestige.

You don't get to watch TV without a card in your Sky TV box. I think similar technology should be brought to cars - you can't drive it without valid licence/insurance/tax. You can't refuel it without valid licence/insurance/tax. Too dumb to manage your card - soz no driving for you.

Our neighbors are still sheltering in place.

Keep showing up.

And if you’ve been at it for 2.5 months, find ways to rest so you don’t burn out.

Today I went on a joyride for the first time since early Dec and it was lovely. ❤️
