I was at first taken aback and sad (my mom loves him) but then I realized The Colbert Report kicked the Late Show’s badonkadonk. This could active a great thing.
Colbert will be all right, maybe even better off. The world's his oyster and I'm sure MSNBC and Netflix will come calling. He could stand up the biggest late night YouTube channel in days. But they are just torching the Late Show, an institution, solely to appease a dictator. And that fucking sucks.

None of this is logical. If Trump knew there was something to hide, why did he and other MAGAs (including Trump Jr.) make a big deal of promising to release the files? If there's nothing there, why not be more transparent and do more than put out a memo saying trust me, there's nothing there?
I love this segment but…we have known all of this for a long time. Which is why I have never understood: Why on earth would Trump make THIS *the* story they were going to rip the lid off of??Surely he knew this was a no-win situation???

The tariffs were declared illegal in May. If the Appeals and SCOTUS courts uphold that opinion, Trump will have to give all this back (but CONSUMERS don't get paid back).
