How I became a #MutualAid snack stop for kids:
In late 2022, I was COVID-conscious (just like now) and put out snacks for Xmas for all of the delivery people. I noticed they were taking a LOT of stuff but I shut it down in January 2023. But in 2023, "somebody" started sneaking around....

So a mom of 6 came with her dad to pick up food yesterday and this morning a mom of 4, later on a mom of 3 then I have to get some snacks for the next round. I have the cans and noodles already.

Yay! So I did a skin cancer check. It was only the second of my life! Everything looked fine, I found out I have another harmless skin condition that makes me scar sometimes if I bump into a hard corner and things like that. 🙄

She now has custody of a teenager, so there's an extra mouth to feed, and money is stretching well for them.

There is no city funding for 2026 for permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Shelters are at 95% capacity. Other voucher programs are shrinking, pushing people back into homelessness, including families.

All of the "givers" in the Mutual Aid group I am in are lifetime "givers", caretaker types, one of them whom I teamed with to help a woman now has a crisis with her mom, who has Alzheimers. I feel so bad, I just met her, and I want to help HER now

I get why a lot of non-disabled people want to pretend respiratory illnesses don’t exist, but as we’re coming up on another event I can’t safely attend, I encourage you to just THINK about wearing a mask at events - or at least on the train/ plane there, where there’s probably no reason not to
