I currently already have boxes I'm giving out from where I live, they all end up being a little more than this, and will have 5 cans of meals, 2 mac and cheese boxes. There are 3 fruit cups and 3 applesauce in this week's portions and 4 Chow Meins

So it really looks like they have the #NationalGuard out filming propaganda. But they looked much happier and more comfortable without their weapons. I just don't like Trump's propaganda

So here's what we did yesterday! We're in DC, WIC benefits are suspended, and food stamps are delayed. And most people on benefits need them as soon as they become available. Federal workers are struggling to get unemployment too and are doing food drives.

This is what families who don't get food stamps this weekend/federal worker etc are going to get from us this weekend. Actually, there will also be potatoes but I haven't divided them up yet.
Also one more shipment of noodles and mac may come today making the load a little bigger.

So I had the Snack Kid family come and get their foods, and thanks to all of you, they had a TON of food to take home and eat. It looked like a giant Costco Haul lol but it was a group effort.
I told her I know it's not milk and meat, but she said it will go a long way, especially pancakes+pastas

Everyone guess what!! A mutual picked me up, took me to both Walmart AND Spirit Halloween and we got 2 kiddos last-minute costumes that absolutely rock.

Today I'm finishing up writing cards for Just Detention International @justdetention.bsky.social 's Words of Hope Campaign. My carpal tunnel tells me when to take a break. Most days, I've done 5 cards or more. But I don't write cards every day; I've had them since late August to fill out 100.

Here's what my insurance paid out this year. So, being a complex and chronically ill patient without insurance would be really impossible. 🙏
Then crazy part is that "only" about 150k of this was brain surgery. And I've still got plenty of Occupational and Physical Therapy appointments left to do.

I just love my new occupational therapy location. Theres a pop up used bookstore in the park today. I haven't been to a bookstore since prepandemic. Also just sharing sculptures here at Farragut North
