Pity poor @fishinnards.bsky.social who returned from a workout to me ranting about James Carville holding up the line at Le pain Quotidian on King Street while he & his wife argue about brownie density. At least I’ve moved on from the list of movies this man ruined with his talking talking talking
From ~1997 - 2002 I was on campus 70+ hours a week & those precious escapes from work for dinner or a movie or coffee elsewhere, this man was somehow ALWAYS there. Right behind me or at the next table, talking talking talking. He was like my personal sleep paralysis demon.
When you find out, we grab the pitchforks and torches

My baby brother served 3 combat tours in Iraq & Afghanistan & 3 years as a university department chair, but nothing could prepare him for the Star Wars Holiday special. He’s too young to remember the original broadcast, but we fixed that yesterday.

If you are someone who enjoys relatively mainstream disco, country, and pop from the late 70s/early 80s, Philly AIDS Thrift got in several thousand jukebox 45s (mostly without picture sleeves) from that era for $2-3. I got 2 Donna Summer singles and Shannon “Give Me Tonight”.

Pseudoarchaeology is one of the foundations of white supremacy & Far Right politics. It’s always chilling to talk to kids who’re already convinced archaeologists hide the truth & dismiss trained professionals with loaded terms such as “orthodox,” “conventional,” or “establishment” archaeologists.

In my panic earlier when I thought I’d lost the rest of the turkey hats, I somehow failed on the Q part of a QT. But now the story has a happy ending: the skeletons all have their turkey hats & the ghosts have their elf hats, altho my brother is probably beginning to deeply regret this visit
