You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

SGJ gets the top spot, but I have to rave about @sadiehartmann.bsky.social's Feral and Hysterical. I found so many incredible books from women that I may not have discovered so easily on my own. It holds a special place on my shelf.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

He gave us two of the best Stephen King adaptations we will ever have. He did so many things, so many good things.
Thank goodness we have our memories and his movies and his legacy will never be forgotten. Poor Rob and Michele Reiner-what happened to them is unconscionable. 💔 I'll never get over it.

Not "Mother Horror" as in some sweet lady in a goose hat that reads cozy bedtime stories, more like the creepy thing under your bed that waits for you to fall asleep and then whispers horrific abominations into your ear to give you nightmares.

Watched SALTBURN last night at urging of @sadiehartmann.bsky.social. I know, what took me so long? The most interesting part to me is that it's a 21st century retelling of Brideshead Revisited. Now, I was besotted w/the TV series when it came out in 1981. Completely besotted...

There isn't an argument for why we need music streaming. We don't. We had long years of various formats of accessible music and we were happy.
We can own media.
Support artists.

The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

I did a whole reel with about 20 book recommendations on Instagram for books that are Wes Anderson coded. A few examples: Attack of the 50ft Indian which would be stop animation @sgj.bsky.social and the Pallbearers Club @paultremblay.bsky.social with mixed-media visual scene cuts
