My friends were playing hacky sack after Crow City Of Angels and kicked the sack on the roof. We went back the next day and we went through the projection room up to the roof to retrieve it. Then came down somebody stepped on something that made one of the projectors error and we ran out in a panic.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

No disrespect to Radley, who of course knows this, but cars are coded as cops in this country, in law and in the media, as opposed to the pedestrian/bicyclists criminal suspect. "Motorist" is an honorific like "homeowner" in comparison to the de facto suspicious person without a car or a home.
Don’t want people to be caged for traffic violations and am aware of how putting this in the hands of police has all manner of problems, but cars are among the leading cause of death in this country and there is zero good faith reason to speed or drive recklessly civil rights wise or otherwise.
I think it was a huge mistake to make our society so car-dependent. But man. The Discourse today is a good reminder that when it comes to roadways policy, otherwise progressive anti-car people quickly become some of the most pro-carceral, anti-civil liberties people on the planet.

My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
