the current youtube CEO is pushing the AI stuff heavily despite how poorly it handles moderation and how many creators it's screwing over.

Stephen King is an example of someone who got prominence and fame at the right time because if a lot of his books came out during the rise of social media... nah... he wouldn't have gotten away with a lot of what he wrote, lol.

LEAVE Twitter already, folks. Get the fuck off there.
The only surefire way to stop oligarchs buying up the things we love is to drop those things the moment oligarchs buy them & that requires changing habits and massive self-discipline.
It means going to alternatives that might not be quite as good or convenient.
It’s really hard. But there it is.

I didn't even get into the political/media/propaganda stuff with Paramount. I solely focused on their content and how they're legitimately killing so much of it and legacy channels.

Just saw two prominent, British media figures arguing over who is whiter and more British... so that's an example of who are spearheading the media discourse in the British press. One of them is Piers Morgan who also pops up in America from time to time, often on Fox.

Folks were knockin' on Netflix but Paramount is NOT a company you want to have WB either. Paramount is actively killing their own content on television AND on streaming AND in theaters almost daily.

... the creative fields have been under heavy AI attack.
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Jared Kushner's involvement was "not mentioned in Paramount's press release on Monday morning about its $108 billion bid, nor were participating sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar."

fancy that
Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery
Paramount is telling WBD shareholders that it has a smoother path to regulatory approval than does Netflix.

Y'know, I never looked into Miles enough to really know his creation history, but for years, he was always advertised as Bendis's creation as if a co-creator didn't exist.

Sometimes I come across messages that really hammer home that I grew up in a different generation.

The upcoming gens on social media don't value protection/condoms as much as they should.

We really need to address how people consume media these days because there's a massive problem.

How have some watched the Diddy documentary and come to the conclusion that Suge Knight was a "good guy."

No. They both did awful stuff.

Did Quentin Tarantino decide recently that he was going to tear as many people and things down as possible? What's the reason?

Not sure this guy has ever watched any iteration of Looney Tunes... but also, why is his biggest concern centered around "gayness"?
December 6, 2025 at 4:15 PM
There are a lot of legitimate concerns about the WB/Netflix deal and how that will affect the future of streaming, television, production, and even theaters.

But like... a lot of those concerns were already there, enabled by WB itself, so...

People complain about the lost of 22 episode seasons and filler but those same people do NOT watch episodic network television where that is still the norm. That setup was also hard on the cast and crew... especially the crew.

"Stranger Things" taking so long to film 5 seasons is also not the norm
