MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

low stakes posting today reminds me that 1) Facebook is for talking to people you know IRL but don’t like and 2) microblogging sites are for talking to people you don’t know but do like.

we forget these things at our peril

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

And 1 million Epstein files appeared from thin air

the inexplicable reality of Gorsuch has always been that he has a deep well of empathy for the victims of atrocities as long as those atrocities are at least 150 years old and no interest in stopping exactly the same behavior if it’s happening currently.
He still seems weirdly correct about big natives cases (Brackeen, San Carlos Apache, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, Herrera v. Wyoming, Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians)

Absolute morons
"While this latest round of Epstein files aren’t yet on the DOJ’s website, they had apparently guessed the link by following the URL formatting of previous releases. WIRED identified the email associated with the video by following that same formatting to view the preceding file."

👀
I LOVE THIS KIND OF STUFF.

It’s crazy to me that some of the redacted Epstein files are just one keystroke away…

The right is dying for a new “laptop from hell” to pull significant attention from the botched roll out.

It’s clear MAGA is out and America First is in.

Worth noting, I guess, that inside of a year we've gone from administration officials taking selfies of themselves at CECOT and bragging about how it's hell on earth to now getting their horrible little media worms to kill stories about it

When a CISA security official asked for documentation of Noem appointee's need-to-know basis, the standard for controlled access programs, the official was suspended.

Noem's flunkie insisted again, officials asked him to take a polygraph. He failed it.

Then the those officials were also suspended.

the thing about research is that you find out stuff you didn't know before, and didn't think before. by going out to really find out what's happening.

this is the opposite of that. you invent some fictional characters and get them to tell you whatever you wanted them to say.

No, we actually do have a choice and many of us actually choose not to use it. It’s incredibly easy not to.

I’m sorry that this is so confusing to you but some people do have principles and don’t just give them up because the tech bros are yelling loudly.

Ah yes, that proud strain of Brooklynites who refer to Manhattan as “the city” as if Brooklyn wasn’t a giant part of NYC.
Anyway here’s some blood and soil nonsense from a guy who reps transit workers but seems too afraid to actually ride the train. Note the reference to the conductor’s car. There’s a lot to unpack here, none of it good. This guy’s brain is fried. Democrats should wake up to that fact.
yikes it’s getting into the weird “heritage American” right wing discourse now
