As an obsessive young dork I read a lot about how things go up in the air and helicopter pilots are all a little bonkers (complimentary)
Idk how else to say this other than air got hands
Why fly on an airplane when you can have a helicopter beat the air into submission

Puerto Rico is like this, although the chart is different.
The only true way is the Canadian way

(As much as I wish it was a joke, it is in fact not one and this is exactly how it works here)

Again, college accreditation organizations need to get into the game, here.
Texas A&M University will not reinstate a lecturer who was fired after a video of her teaching about gender identity in a children’s literature class went viral, despite a faculty appeals panel unanimously concluding that her dismissal was not justified.
Texas A&M won’t reinstate fired lecturer despite findings
A vice chancellor upheld the firing of Melissa McCoul, seen in a viral video being confronted by a student on her gender identity teachings, saying the termination was done with “good cause.”

One (minor) bluesky annoyance is that it isn't necessary to follow someone to interact with them a lot, which means sometimes users don't realize they don't follow somebody. But for accounts bigger than a breadbox limiting replies is really only doable in following/follower boxes.

For anyone that thought disinformation was a social media problem, it’s great to see all of the legacy media organizations giving best book of the year to a Princeton University press published book full of Covid disinformation.
Congratulations to Stephen Macedo & Frances Lee, whose book In Covid's Wake has been recognized as:

⭐ A @newyorker.com Best Book of the Year
⭐ An @economist.com Book of the Year
⭐ A @wsj.com Best Book of the Year

Remember, the Secretary of Transportation is absolutely terrified of this subway system. Just mentioning the ACE line will reduce him to tears.

And yet ...
Freaking love this city and all the people in it so much….a bunch of people went and turned the 4 train into the Polar Express giving out toys to kids along the way from the Bronx to Brooklyn….shoutout to the @newyorkers.live account on IG for doing this 🙏 www.instagram.com/reel/DSnsvWS...

On a snowy moonless night, hike deep into the mountain woods and lay your bait—a sirloin steak bound against your bare leg. Sit under the tree where the raven croaks. Await the beast that stalks out of the cold night to fasten its teeth into your leg, worrying at the flesh. THAT IS YOUR DOG. (1/2)

this is a weirdly specific thing but what would you think would be more likely to see on a fictional giant combat robot?

1. Middleware as glue to different services

2. Hard real-time operating system kernel as integrating layer

3. Something else

I immediately went to the article to see if it was mentioned anywhere in it that these farmers can only grow rice in CA because of billions of dollars in public money poured into water infrastructure. Surprise! No mention of the fact these people are hugely subsidized by the people they despise!

Lots of areas in the US could do with an increase in deer hunting and a reintroduction of wolves
Deer numbers have been rocketing in the UK and Ireland, causing *massive* damage to nature and society.

The solutions?

Eat wild venison instead of farmed meat, and reintroduce missing native predators like lynx.

Why Britain has a deer problem
Deer numbers have rocketed over the last 40 years and particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Even with tungsten lighting from 80's which was a lot cooler then kits from previous you had to legally have breaks every 20 minutes they gave off that much heat.

If you picked up a light before it cooled you'd lose a few layers of skin and make the place smell of burnt bacon.

Someone who complains about the noise in the park bought a house across the street from a park. This is not a real complaint.

You don't need to manage the noise, or listen to these complaints, 99% of the time the complainer hires a gardening service that runs a leaf blower multiple times a week.
Zoning for pickleball… I guess we need to focus on the issues of our times, but this is indicative of a complain-oriented way of planning

i am reminded of the fact that if you setup a new iphone in the eu, youre asked to select a default browser in a randomized list that can absolutely show a garbage spammy one at the top instead of just a list of safari and then third parties apple would curate like chrome or firefox as it should be

Please be aware of possible scams! My client, Mel Curth, is not seeking any donations at this time. She is grateful for your support and instead requests folks that want to help to donate to the local organizations of your choice!
