He/Him, Don't worry about the blood, it's mine, I was gonna put it somewhere.
All done! Quicker than expected! I would've thought I'd accidentally skipped a bit, but it's hard to take a shortcut around a reservoir without swimming, and I don't remember doing that.

Finished Wolfenstein II The New Colossus. It's ok. Hate the submarine hub level, the proper levels funnel you down too many tubes, but the guns are fun and there's a lot of cute details.
I finished Doom 3! It's sick, basically not the same game as anything else in the series. Feels close to resident evil 4, of all things. Pretty excited that they'd do a remaster of quake 4 and prey 2006 at this point.

so wait, do you get worse at football as you get older? it seems to me like you would get better at it since you'd have more time to learn football facts

Here’s an article from this year with the Australian gun lobby boasting that, with surging gun numbers, it was winning the fight against firearms control advocates. Blame guns. Blame anti-Semitism. Blame terrorists. Do not blame everyday Australians who marched for peace.
Australia’s gun lobby says it’s ‘winning’ the fight against firearm control as numbers surge
There are now more than 4m guns in the community – almost double the number recorded in the years after the Port Arthur massacre that prompted a national crackdown

obviously not the major driver of his health concerns but it is very funny to read A Christmas Carol as an adult and realize that when tiny tim first says "God bless us, every one!" he's a severely malnourished child and they've given him a cup of hot gin

Me: no amontillado brandy for me, I'm full to the brim with creams and cheeses

My rival: (seething) I thought you couldn't digest dairy

Me: haha oh yes I'll pay for it in the morning

"yeah, pretty much"
"so microsoft make all the videogames?"
"uh... occasionally they make one, but they're not happy about it."

This is pretty stupid and funny but it's also genuinely horrifying how these people don't understand that other humans are more than the service they provide to us.

Los Angeles, 2019. I am a courier, delivering important materials by hand. In order to navigate the dirty, crowded streets better, I glide through them on a pair of roller blades. I'm what's known colloquially as an ANDROID MURDERER. (There was a mix-up at the job name factory.)

The first rule of big game fishing is don't take it up hoping to find a living guy inside one of the fish, that's happened two-three times max, you can't be expecting it every time you take the boat out

This week I have been mostly thinking about The Roman Empire

About halfway through I, Claudius (1976) and it is every bit as brilliant as I had heard. Can see the clear inspiration for Game of Thrones, although I, Claudius is by far its superior

Augustus' (Brian Blessed) death scene is incredible
