bad writing can lowkey be beautiful. not because the language is beautiful but because bad writing can reveal things about the writer that "good writing" would know to conceal or distract from. sometimes when reading bad writing I feel a terrible, thrilling closeness to the author.

Why am I so against generative AI in games?
Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

There's a reason Gen Z & increasingly, Gen Alpha, are not taking school/education seriously. They're seeing assholes get crazy rich (or who already come from wealth) running scams or gambling. Meanwhile people who go the traditional route of slow&steady are getting screwed over, drowning in debt.
it's hard to accept that power and wealth do not require you to be smart or savvy in some way both bc we're told they do and also because it's insulting, but. here we are.

I watch the Athletic football podcast YT show pretty frequently, and as someone who's had to do live ad reads on radio, you can see the hosts are literally dying inside as they read out those gambling plugs theyre being ordered to. It's like watching a hostage video
