The redemption process has started. The Salt Path author has a new book coming out this year, so here is the @thetimes.com printing a "balanced" article in which Winn is compared, not unfavourably, to...Bruce Chatwin? And Oliver Sacks? Kapuscinski next? www.thetimes.com/article/ed79...
The Salt Path wars are back — all publishers should be nervous
Raynor Winn’s book about a walk with her dying husband set off a storm about the veracity of non-fiction. Can she win back readers’ trust?

What I find really shocking, even beyond Winn's literal and literary fraud, is that not only did Penguin do no fact checking originally, it's now putting out her new book as if nothing happened. One of the world’s greatest publishers simply doesn't care about accuracy and can't be trusted.

Butterflies and moths are sounding the alarm. Nature in the UK is in crisis. 🚨

Wildlife and natural places are under pressure from development, climate change and habitat loss - and yet a new report, the Nuclear Regulatory Review, suggests weakening the protections that help keep what remains safe.

Did u know? As Autumns & Winters become milder, insects will be on the wing for longer, so it's important to & have something flowering in your outside space, all year round. For Autumn blooms, you can't go wrong with heavenly Helianthus - and I think this Carder Bee agrees with me. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐝

Instagram loathes photos like this these days. Why, Instagram? What made you forsake landscapes and sunsets for tiny capitalist films, stolen photos of celebrities, narcissistic bleating and overshown clips from pop culture? Who hurt you?
Almost certainly the best photo I will ever take from an Iron Age Hill fort of the sun setting over an estuary as summer segues majestically into autumn.

I returned to Millpool in VC2 East Cornwall today and took some photos of Mount Olympus St John's-wort in situ on a wall adjacent to a football ground car park, and found several more colonies nearby too. As said before, a 1st for Cornwall, so a nice find.
