The Kremlin's continued efforts to forcibly deport and indoctrinate Ukrainian children — instead of working w/ Ukrainian authorities to return these children to Ukraine — underscores how committed the Kremlin remains to eradicating Ukrainian identity & strengthening its claim over occupied Ukraine.
The Kremlin is intensifying efforts to change the demographic makeup of occupied Ukraine to legitimize Putin's claim over occupied areas.

The Kremlin also continues Russifying Ukrainian children in occupied areas to further the destruction of Ukrainian national and cultural identity...(1/2)

London summit on Sunday all the more urgent.
- Keep pressing Trump on guarantees, even if prospect fading
- Do all possible to avoid Trump blaming Ukr and/or Europe for a no-deal
- No alt. to rearmament in every scenario
- Prepare to keep Ukr armed to best poss. degree e.g. what can ROK/Turkey sell?

Standing up to the authoritarian wave requires more than cheerleading for democracy; it demands making democratic societies more participatory, responsive, and adaptable at all levels, from local to national, in response to the societal shifts driven by the Internet over the past 15 years.

As it happens, Trump has gone so far off the cliff that Europe isn’t divided but closing ranks.

I figured that it’ll become politically difficult for European politicians to try and suck up to him because electorates see what Trump is doing and are very angry. But it’s even better than expected:

I wasn’t a Westerner when the Iron Curtain fell. I was an EEuropean high schooler exhilarated by the winds of change. Now as a middle-aged Westerner, I see Ukrainians, Georgians (and others) strive for freedom while assorted Westerners scoff and wonder whether they looked down on my 1989 self too.
