i take wisp to the cat hotel tomorrow and it's way easier just packing him up, than when we had linus, too. But there's also a lil sting when I realize I don't have to pack 3 different types of meds, syringes, and finger cots, I don't have to print 4 pages of care sheets

Mikiva gestured to a clearing some distance away. “Looks like they are gathered over there.” “Let’s hurry, before this gets any worse.” “Before what gets any worse?” But Av’ry was already running ahead. Mikiva cursed and sprinted after him. They reached a clearing with makeshift cots for several patients. A couple of teenagers and an old woman had been left to care for them, while the rest of the village fought the fire. Fox was among them, sweating and thrashing on a wooden plank, her brow creased in pain. Still unconscious. “Who are you?” The old woman rose and approached them, suspiciously. “We are here to help, we…” Av’ry was cut off by the field around them suddenly igniting. The kids screamed. Av’ry grabbed Fox while they were distracted. “Mikiva, hurry! We need to get her somewhere… non-flammable.” And then, she understood. “Fox is doing this!?” “Yup. And it is only going to get worse.”
