I don’t post a ton, but as someone who used to teach undergraduates full-time, I have some thoughts on LLMs and cheating given the recent NY mag piece and this feels like a reasonable place to do some rambling.

Every time I take apart a whole chicken rather than buying pre-chopped cuts I feel wildly, disproportionately pleased with myself. I am basically a hunter, I am one with the earth and my competence knows no bounds.

Yep. We’ve known this for a long time. We also know that protesters self police, until law enforcement starts cracking down, at which point the good and bad actors unite against a common enemy, and the more extreme members of the protest grow more influential.
