My seasonal reminder that you are probably worse at driving in the snow than you think you are, four wheel drive isn’t a panacea, and your pick up truck is garbage in the snow regardless of how much money you’ve spent on it.
Don’t drive unless you absolutely have to. Saw multiple cars spin out on this stretch of Cherry plus these two stuck buses

The best option is to purchase a seat for the violin. The main concern with carry-on instrument cases is overhead compartments being completely filled by the time she boards. But I'm surprised cabin crew didn't even try to accommodate the case.

Actually, this is Lufthansa. So I'm not surprised.

For all the talk of how the Trump Administration has failed to do Regime Consolidation (which is true, they are incompetent) his billionaire allies, who now run most of the news media and social media, have continued their version of it mostly unabated.

And this is one of the reasons they are wary of doing so, because Joe Biden ended our longest war at great political cost - it was what made the media turn against him - only to have smug smoothbrains do both-sides equivocation

No political benefit to ending wars, even from the left.

Rand Paul could have prevented Pete Hegseth from being confirmed as Defense Secretary. Instead, he voted for him — a manifestly unqualified candidate — to run the Defense Department. Now, we're here.
Rand Paul tells me that he wants the full video of the Venezuelan boat strike released.

“And I think if the public sees images of people clinging to boat debris and being blown up, I think that there is a chance that finally, the public will get interested enough in this to stop this.”

I'm on Paul's side here, but I'm not sure I agree with his conclusion. There's a serious possibility that releasing the footage results in people making memes about abject violence, and it all becomes normalized. I hope that's not the case.

That's the problem. The last election sounded like the most racist, sexist and xenophobic one Id ever seen and so many white people refused to even address how scary it was
...because white nationalism isn't an existential threat to all of them and they felt they could take their chances.

yeah we’re gonna have to think bigger than “wealth tax” when it comes to Elon.

My proposal: he spends the rest of his life in a prison cell and his personal fortune is seized by the government and used to fund an expanded USAID
It woud be helpful if more people understood that a man who says and thinks such monstrous things now has enough money to purchase private armies and sway elections. We can solve part of this problem with two words: wealth tax.
it should probably be a bigger story that the richest man on earth and leading Republican is a fucking Nazi

media needs to stop beating around the bush. this is Nazi shit.
