Also King literally just admitted they will let Trump walk all over them constantly for however long he and his predecessors are in power because "it didn't work"

He just told you he is unwilling to fight. IN PLAIN FUCKING LANGUAGE

I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

so, today I got the surgery center where I got my deviated septum fixed to send me an itemized bill so I could submit to my FSA for reimbursement

my out of pocket cost: $473

what my insurance paid: $4258

what they tried to charge my insurance (not a misprint): $173692
I was at an event yesterday where Rand Paul spoke via video and talked about how great it was to send ACA money "directly to the people" so that they could work collectively to get better deals on health care.

Also Senate Democrats: i have nothing to say about whether our current leadership may be part of the problem

getting roasted for accepting magic beans in exchange for political leverage
POTUS, Speaker Johnson and Congressional Republicans remain the barrier to addressing health care costs.

For the first time, we've secured a guaranteed vote on this crisis and if they continue to ignore the needs of the American people, they'll be held accountable next November.

We had huge No Kings protests then an election where Dems swept everything and they capitulated? So disheartening to see our leaders fail the people especially on an issue they’ve claimed for years is so important. What the hell are they doing it makes no sense

This is absolutely the best way I’ve ever heard North American deer described, hands down.

Today is a great day to make sure you cancel ANY recurring donation to ANY sitting Democratic senator and especially to ANY of the party committees.

Yes, they will notice. Yes, they should all be afraid. Send a signal that they'll be held collectively responsible for this utter betrayal. 🧵

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

No, I will not mind my own business about things that happen in the United States. The Americans have no qualms about butting into the affairs of other countries. When a demented US President threatens to annex Canada, you’re damn right I’ll make a lot of noise.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Have the Israeli and Saudi governments enabled a genocide? Yes. Do they meddle in the affairs of other countries to destabilize and destroy them? Yes. Do they use the American military like it's Fiverr? Yes. But neither could exploit problems that didn't already exist.

And most importantly, random Jewish and Muslim people minding their own business just trying to survive are not to blame for the actions of those governments. And it is quite ironic that it's the "slavery was a long time ago" crowd racing to blame the closest non-Christian for every problem faced.
