any politician who wants to "compromise" away trans rights

can fuck off in to the sun

You don't have to be a huge advocate of *everyone* having human rights, esp access to healthcare, esp trans people (as I am) to understand it's fucking INSANE to pick groups of people to throw under the bus FFS
I'm so glad you said this, because about 30 seconds ago, I published a newsletter piece detailing how conservatives have dump-trucked through all of the previously established common sense, nuanced, compromise positions on trans rights to get here: burns-notice.ghost.io/what-would-t...

I need y'all to understand what the NYT, Dem donors, and centrists are doing here. They're pushing the narrative that trans people went too far and we deserve what is happening to us.

It's pure victim blaming and it's not done yet, there's a Confessore piece in the works with the same framing.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

Note: Now that the Pride flag is an official city government flag, many schools and cities across the US with Pride flag bans can now fly it.

Many Pride flag bans have an exception for “city” or “government” flags.

And those exceptions do not specify that they are your local government flag.
1. Missoula, Montana has cleverly voted to defy the Pride flag ban by making the it "an official city flag."

This comes after a law banned the flying of the flag but made an exception for "official flags."

Now, the Pride flag will fly defiantly in the state.

Montana HB819 was intended to ban Pride flags from flying on city property, but had an exception for "official flags." So Missoula made the Pride flag an official flag.

I am telling you right now, and I've said it before, I'm not voting for Democrats who move even a centimeter towards the right on trans issues.
To win centrist voters, Dems must meet Americans where they are, not where advocates want them to be. Swing voters understand the complexity and believe Republicans can be cruel, but are also exasperated with many Dems, who dismiss this vulnerability at their electoral peril.
