i feel like the reason people would fall for this is if they’re conservative-culture aligned Christians who don’t read the bible and so are imagining what it’s like, who believe somewhat sensibly from context that a lot of Christianity is about extolling the virtues of heterosexual marriage

Functionally this isn’t all that different from prayer, except a computer makes up the answers to make you feel better instead of your own brain doing it.
Purple prose about a subject the author clearly wants to fuck is not “ironic” by any reasonable definition of the term.
The Nuzzi piece is an excellent realtime test of whether Bluesky can recognise an ironic writing style.
