Let's hear it for the most productive minority party in existence, still pulling off miracles when they can for the American public even though the American public was too stupid to give them the power they needed last time.
Despite how fucking insane the past week or so has been, Senate Democrats got a war powers resolution through from the minority & House Democrats got a 7th discharge petition through & are about to pass extending the ACA subsidies with a sizable chunk of Republicans despite being in the minority.

The most tragic aspect of Ashli Babbit's death was that she didn't have more company among all the terrorists that invaded our capitol in an attempt to overthrow our democracy.

Perry: Trusted providers are being unfairly swept up in Minnesota’s fraud crackdown
As the state's new anti-fraud screening system went into effect, the Holland Center expected to receive $212,000 in payments. It instead received $22,000, David M. Perry writes. If nothing changes soo...

Saw No Other Choice today after watching Decision to Leave last night. I liked the former better but the kid rates the latter higher. The economic story of Parasite with absurdist murders added to the mix. Lots of laughs despite the heavy material plus some crazy technical filmmaking as always.

I feel like we nailed this with our kids. We used SSA data they publish (used to??) and focused on names in the 100+ ranking of popularity. This produced names that everyone was familiar with while still being uncommon enough to be interesting, but where they never shared a name with a classmate.
I used to be fairly critical of 'on-trend' baby names because if half of your class is Noahs it feels like it defeats the purpose of having a name to begin with, but being on trend is empirically a high status signal and this will presumably help their children avoid some class discrimination.

Great job everyone who screeched about how the parties are the same on Palestine. Delusional, oppositional children who helped drag us all into the lesson they’ll still never learn.
Netanyahu: We've never had a friend like President Trump in the White House. It's not even close. I think Israel is very blessed to have President Trump leading the United States.
