I have long had the slightly deranged opinion that it's actually good that Goodsprings is slow and a bit pokey - it's the important contrast. If you start at 10/10, how does the game escalate?

okay I remember why the first time I tried playing this I fell off so hard. I was still bitter about Fallout 3 kinda sucking and whoof the exposition lecture followed by the naked sauceless tutorial of Goodsprings is so very "go on queen give us nothing", but I'm finding more interesting stuff now

This is why I don't necessarily enjoy when a game series "Shakes up the formula" if they just throw out what I liked. Do I enjoy that we have 3d Metroid and 2d Metroid embodying different gameplay but consistently? Yes! Do I enjoy 3d Zelda changing its entire formula every decade? No!
I think what really bugs me about the "idk why people like Musou games even tho they havent changed in 30 years" is like, the insistance that there is no value in a game unless its completely shattering the formula and changing the whole genre
