Truly bizarre to see people attacked, shamed, and disciplined for saying things about Charlie Kirk that are 1000x less offensive than what Charlie Kirk said about people

I … I did not expect Kirk’s passing to prove Black women’s point about how much left and liberal pundits agreed with the right

And how much they actually hated us

Congress passed a bipartisan law long ago mandating that a plaque honoring the officers who defended Capitol on J6 be displayed in the building. Mike Johnson has ignored that law and refuses to do it.

Stop donating to @npr.org

I don’t like saying this but this is straight up propaganda and actively spreading misinformation that causes harm
It is quite simply dishonest to describe TPUSA as a “free speech” organization and not even mention the “Professor Watchlist,” as NPR just did. Reporting on a crime does not entail adopting the victim’s views.

Almost every single HBCU is under a bomb threat

There have been almost no announcements about civil discourse and safety regarding the students there.

The White House is using the Social Security Administration to create propaganda.

Don't be fooled.

Social Security field offices have lost 20% of their staff, and in-person and phone wait times are growing.

It should alarm every American to see the President exploit a tragic shooting to threaten persecution of his political opponents and civil society. This is straight out of the authoritarian playbook — and it’s profoundly un-American.
Trump issues a statement after Kirk’s death blaming the “rhetoric of the radical left.”

A lot of people currently calling for civility saw Kirk's violence as harmless because they weren't the primary target. The fact that being lower on the list is seen as safety is wild to me.

when i was running the social accounts of a prominent Black female elected official, she got so many death and rape threats that I stopped realizing it wasn't normal. it took a few years after to recalibrate and be like...ohhhh, other people get freaked out by this!
If you are a Black woman who was online talking about race and class and gender and politics? Your feed was full of bigots incited by TPUSA and the precursors since social media existed. Bluesky has some folks forgetting what actually happened to BIPOC creators on Twitter

The Sweeping Anti-Trans Bills Moving Through Congress No One’s Talking About
Republicans are jamming in dozens of anti-trans measures across a series of government funding bills. Few Democrats have spoken out against them. The failure of Democrats, the press and Gay Inc organi...

While you weren't looking, *seventeen* House Democrats just voted to strip basic rights from trans members of the military and helped the GOP pass their far-right version of the NDAA, similar to what we reported on.

This is the most Dems voting for anti-trans legislation in Congress this year.

It's good actually to not launder the reputation of a disgusting bigot who promoted violence. He was not a good man, and we need to remember every single horrible thing he said.

It is not condoning violence to highlight the horrific impact Charlie Kirk had, and will continue to have, on this world.

a key point re: Kirk, and unsympathetic 'jokes' about it (highlighting hypocrisy is not the same as 'joking' imo) is that Kirk famously said over and over that unrestricted gun access was worth people dying. If he didn't mean him, he just meant it was ok with him if *your* kids died.

When you devote your life to the message that empathy is evil and gun deaths are an acceptable price to pay for gun rights, you shape the world with your words. Maybe Charlie Kirk didn’t expect to be a victim of his own worldbuilding, but his death is consistent with the world he helped create.

Reminder: The House took away Medicaid and SNAP in JULY because these programs were "too expensive.”

Charlie Kirk woke up every day and made a conscious decision to be the Charlie Kirk we all saw. That’s the meanest thing I can think of to say about pretty much anyone, and it also happens to be completely true.

We can remember what he did, and we can remember who he did it to.

“So what if he disagreed with you, he didn’t deserve to die”

But he thought I did.

This isn’t disagreement. It’s someone who was not only opposed to my existence but was called a good and faithful servant by the church for doing it.

I don’t have to mourn that. And asking me to is violence too.
