Some of these recommendations are ones I've seen used by democracy activists living under military dictatorships. Well worth reading.
🧵ICE's tactics for arresting and holding observers and protestors is ever-shifting, and I'm hearing lots of different stories. Right now, my perspective is that these are your best practices:

Sharing this report of ICE depravity from Facebook at the request of community member. This is from a suburb north of ICE-occupied Minneapolis.

The text is from her post on Facebook.

Mischief Toy Store in St. Paul has until Wednesday to turn over employment records to the Department of Homeland Security as part of a surprise audit launched Friday, just hours after one of the shop's owners criticized ICE agents during a television interview. bit.ly/4r5AFol

🚨 Finishing the training for ICE Watch today and they are doing another one this Thursday and I *highly* recommend folks check it out. Super informative and practically useful.

I’m going to keep hammering this point: the excesses of ICE we see now are entirely contiguous with our system of policing more broadly, and the reason that almost no politician wants to threaten real consequences for ICE agents is because it opens the door to making the same demands of the cops

I’m the one in the brown hat.

What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. He’s only wearing crocs.

Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

This was in North Minneapolis a few nights ago, same time they shot another Mpls resident.
"DHS deleted this one because: The family was driving home and got blocked; ICE deployed flashbangs and tear gas INSIDE the car; The 6-month old child stopped breathing and had to be rushed to hospital."

Too many people try to speak for Inuit, to tell us our history, our place, our future; but an Inuk has their own voice and experience.

Inuit make up 56,000 of Greenland's 58,000 humans.

This is an Inuit story about an Inuit country.

It's 10am in Minneapolis and rapid response is underwater, reports of chemicals deployed already.

As others have pointed out, the ratio of feds (with more arriving) to residents and square mileage here is extreme compared to what we experienced in Chicago.

We are in freefall.

A decade ago, when Trump one the first time, I and other Black writers tried to make us see that racism — both explicit and deeply seeded — was at the root of Trump’s rise. We were dismissed even as late as last year as people attributed economic anxieties to Trump’s wins.
DO YOU BELIEVE US NOW?
