Decades of "luring suburbanites" city planning rhetoric has convinced generations that bringing their cars downtown for dinner & a show or game is absolutely essential to urban survival.
I remember talking to someone in Connecticut about congestion pricing. “You know,” they said, “if they implement that new toll, then lots of people like me who drive into the city 4 or 5 times a year won’t come anymore.” Yes. That’s the idea. We do not want you to.

Overdue update: picked the frame up today from local framebuilder Chris Kvale, who repainted the top tube with vintage Imron paint. I think it looks perfect and it was a real pleasure to meet Chris and see his shop. Not many artisans like him left.

This is a policy failure by every city in Minnesota.
This gentleman and I had just gotten off the busiest bus line in the state. The entire sidewalk was this bad or worse.
Enforcement is not working. Community driven solutions leave too many areas out.

-TIF in #SaintPaul is fundamentally broken and in any rational universe no incentive should be paid to a developer at Grand & Vic.
-The fact that this project is moving forward is very good for Grand Ave & the city as a whole.

I am committed to vigorously defending Minnesota’s medical providers who do incredible work to treat and care for all Minnesotans, including our trans neighbors. I have already taken the Trump Admin to court to stop them from scapegoating the trans community. I will not hesitate to do so again.

From the Minnesota Star Tribune. Seattle-based Rad Power Bikes filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday, three weeks after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") issued a product safety warning urging anyone with certain models of Rad Power e-bike batteries to immediately cease using them and take them to a hazardous waste collection center. The agency was aware of 31 reports of the batteries catching fire, including instances in which the batteries ignited when not in use or being charged.
