I wonder why people think it’s a good idea to reply to posts that call for action, bravery, integrity to fight the corrupt fascism of Trump and the GOP, with cynicism and a “there’s no use” response? Folks can have any opinion they want, of course, but why try to demoralize those willing to fight?

This reminds me that parks and streets are inseparable. Removing cars from Central Park and Prospect Park are legacy TA campaigns that greatly improved the parks and made surrounding neighborhoods more livable and moved NYC toward safer people-centered streets.

We need more car-free parks!

THE moment when I painfully realized the existence of “positive prejudice”:
Going to the huge Eurobike bike fair for the 1st time and realizing, as a “pure everyday cyclist,” I didn't belong there at all.

Instead, it was all about “driving up the mountain in a van” and “the SUV of gravel bikes.”.

alQaeda-offshoot-ISIS-offshoot-HTS-offshoot running Syrian capital is fighting SDF in Aleppo—still. Is SDF perfect? No, but it did not ally w/ ISIS and sanctioning genocide against Shias and Alowites. Hypocrisy from Damascus & Ankara.

Thank you for telling us you neither serve nor protect. Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud. That was state murder in broad daylight, captured from multiple angles by multiple witnesses, and the people of Minneapolis have eyes.

You support murder.

“Advocates who say infrastructure (concrete barriers) keeps cyclists safe”

I’m sorry, we don’t just say that, it is an indisputable fact.

What we do say is that “protected bike lanes make streets safer for all road users” which is ALSO an indisputable fact based on mountains of data & evidence.

The irony is rich as the new Syrian government in Damascus, *which is led by an ISIS-offshoot*, accuses the SDF of being terrorists.

Al Jazeera is covering the civil war boogaloo in Aleppo (which is on Day Three) but not a peep from US media or BBC to my knowledge.

When you remove through motor traffic from residential streets, they don’t just become safer for walking and cycling - they become places to live. Neighbours add benches, sit outside, and the street becomes an extension of home.

This is what a healthy neighbourhood looks like.

Good morning to everyone who will never stop being astonished by the idea that vehicle delay is a *safety* hazard, and so therefore if you do something to increase vehicle throughput capacity (=moving more cars, faster), you are improving *safety*.
what's it called when standard lexicon of a field consistently conflates the meaning of one term for another one, to the detriment of understanding of anyone outside the field?

like saying "improve safety" when you mean "reduce liability"
or "demand" when you mean "consumption"
