ABC workers deserve a fair deal—not a step backwards. The current proposal fails to deliver on pay, conditions, and respect for the work you do every day. Vote NO to their insulting offer.

For our ABC to provide Australia with the quality journalism we need, staff need to have secure jobs, sustainable careers and fair pay. Management's enterprise agreement offer will send the ABC backwards with cuts to job security and career progression, and pay that doesn't keep up with inflation.

Regional newsroom staff say AI rollout leading to potential errors
Staff and a union say a generative AI model being tested in Australian Community Media's regional newspapers is misattributing facts and leaving some fearing for their jobs.

On remembrance day, MEAA remembers the journalists and war correspondents that have risked, and continue to risk their lives to report on the horrors of war.

Journalists, writers and reporters are very concerned about AI companies stealing their work without consent or compensation and then churning it into content that doesn't serve the public interest, can't be trusted and can be used to create misinformation. #PayUp!

The recent commitment to no text and data mining exceptions for AI companies from the federal government is a good start — but it's just a start. We still need big tech companies to #PayUp for the data they have already used to train their AI algorithms.

They shouldn’t get an exception; they should get an invoice.
