I really don’t like how people are diagnosing these fascists with personality disorders instead of acknowledging that this is the type of personality that psychology never bothered to pathologize because it neatly fits into our society and upholds the status quo
What sticks out to me is how absolutely unafraid of prosecution this psychopath is. Part of it is narcissistic personality disorder, but it's mostly the perceived weakness of Democrats. Should they retake power, no one expects Democrats to hold anyone accountable.

lovely words but what about their actions? The HSE put the head of the NGS in charge their trans research. Hillary Cass described the NGS as the 'gold standard' despite being ranked the worst in Europe. They've fluffed on hate speech, gender recognition & no ban on conversion practices yet either.

And it's not that Ireland is perfect! Our healthcare system for trans people is beyond bad and I point that out in the blog post. But our legislators, and more, our public, shove transphobia to the margins where it belongs and aren't afraid to stand up to the post-imperial hellscape next door.

Basically, the Brits are constantly at it (transphobia) and the Dáil has gone back to calling it what it is (neocolonial interference with Irish discourse) like they have done previously (during the GRA debates) because Ireland is an independent country which makes up its own mind and says NO HATE.

Speaking as someone who has periodically wished I was born *considerably* shorter, not to mention the health issues associated with being too tall, I think that the idea that you're 'optimizing your child's start in life' by doing eugenics to make them tall is clearly based on society's prejudices.

This is my position. I can’t believe they’re continuing to use this excuse when the “culture war” has already led to legislation being used to directly contravene the human rights of trans people. Lab wanting to follow and not lead *is* putting kids at risk.

imagine, right, you're applying for a UK visa. our wages suck, bills are high, layoffs are ten a penny, & you find out you're down up to £20k minimum right from the off, alongside thousands and thousands in visa fees. who would find that remotely appealing? this is how you collapse entire industries
a family of four on a five year visa route needs to pay close to twenty grand in surcharges, in addition to visa fees, upfront at time of application. the new Labour ILR rules means that family will pay close to *forty grand* in health surcharges, on top of visa fees. just incredibly stupid stuff
