Trump set new Kentucky records w/his 64.4%, 2024 win.

The nat'l poverty rate is 10.6%. In Kentucky, it's 16.6%.

Jim Beam employed some 1500 Kentuckians - up til now, anyway.

Congratulations, MAGA, you've scored another big middle finger from your lord and master.
Jim Beam Whiskey will shut its distillery for 2026 thanks to plummeting sales amid retaliatory tariffs from the European Union after Trump's tariffs and a bourbon boycott from Canada.

The move comes as Kentucky’s $9 billion bourbon industry is dealing with a glut of supply and slipping sales.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

You can’t “trust” a scholar who actually does all of their own thinking and writing without the hallucinating bullshit machine?

What?
I would struggle to trust an academic who doesn‘t know how to
use AI tools.
Which is not the same as not being critical.

I'd prefer that DHS didn't regularly post sacrilegious Christmas-themed social media posts. I think a reasonable person could interpret this as openly mocking the Christian religion and one of its most significant holidays.

I think working for a living was just a lot harder than he thought.
fwiw I think “Bongino quit because of what he saw in the Epstein files” is a lot less likely than “Bongino was/is going to get blamed for the inevitable clusterfuck of the Epstein Files release”

Payrolls fell -105k in October and rose +64k in November. August and September payrolls were also revised down a total of 33k.

These data suggest VIRTUALLY NO EMPLOYMENT GROWTH since April ("Liberation day").

Unemployment is now up to 4.6%.

This is a tricky report, so stay tuned.

Contrary to propaganda, rather than looking for criminals the thing they’re using for profiling is literally productivity.
This is outside Minneapolis. Like Chicago, a big part of their strategy is just driving around looking for laborers to abduct. They failed this time.
Masked men wearing ICE vests—but who refused to present a warrant or identify themselves—roped off a construction site, trapping two men on a roof for hours in subzero temps. Protesters gathered. Masked men eventually left, and one man on the roof was taken away by ambulance kstp.com/kstp-news/to...

Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

Couple of things here:

1. Trump says he took another cognitive test recently

2. In front of "large numbers of doctors and experts"

3. He called the examinations "long...and very boring"

4. If you're given 3 cognitive exams in one year by panels of doctors, something is VERY wrong with you
