It's hard to get neurotypicals to understand "I didn't do the task because I was so intensely aware of the need to do this that my brain built a wall around the concept of doing it", so we just say "I didn't do the task because I forgot."

Wasn’t able to watch WS live but apparently the Jonas Bros did some of a song at some point? I cannot express this urgently enough: NO. Baseball is not meant to be associated with entertainment. The beauty of baseball is its uninterrupted agony. The outside world must be barred from the stadiums.

ChatGPT’s new Atlas browser doesn’t just see what you read — it remembers it.

@eff.org’s Lena Cohen showed me it even logged “memories” of her looking for *abortion care* and her doctor’s name. Out-surveils even Chrome.

Column | ChatGPT just came out with its own web browser. Use it with caution.
OpenAI’s Atlas promises AI-powered convenience. The price? Letting ChatGPT track and store “memories” of what you do online.

Matt Gelb meets the moment with a stellar piece of writing, capturing the pathos of a team of human beings in the immediate aftermath of such a historically tragic turn in baseball.

It’s something every Phillies fan should make time to read.
More than an hour after it happened, Orion Kerkering went back to the dugout. He was alone. Then, someone put his arm around him. The Phillies shared a collective pain because it felt like more than a season had just ended. Story: www.nytimes.com/athletic/670...

Re: Schwarber & Realmuto, once your bank account is 7, 8 figures… how are you not just picking the team you want to play for? I’m sure Scott Boras is whispering in their ears about payouts but how much money do you really need? You’re rich af. Just go where you wanna be. (So, Philly, natch).
