This show starts out delightful and then suddenly becomes very gripping but still delightful.

Everybody was right.

A Knight of the Seventh Kingdoms gets pretty good.

You're right. This is really gross.
February 19, 2026 at 4:34 AM
That is such an actually really deep insight.

In 1988 I got an old Telecaster and started a band, and Alex Chilton had a lot to do with both.

We covered "September Gurls," duh.

Imagine anybody sounding that ridiculously cool playing open quarter-note chords on a Telecaster.

It's brain-melting.

Brady's Bits:

This was my favorite song for a pretty long time.

In the summer of 1988, "September Gurls" rewired my brain.

Stamey's original 1977 version of "The Summer Sun" was his first single.

Alex Chilton from Big Star produced it as well as played drums, sang backup, and unwound that sublime Telecaster solo.

Nerd Brain Freeze: this is a tender THREE years after "September Gurls."

Really makes you think.

You may be shocked to learn how many things actually can be overstated.

Really, almost anything can be overstated. It's one placid but predictable condition of the entire universe.

And the entire universe literally cannot be overstated.

I just heard someone use "action" as a transitive verb, and I am not loving it.

This unnecessary neologism did not, in fact, action my affection.

Oh, man, sorry. Our feed situation is a little nightmarish, unfortunately. Sorry about that!
