POTUS:

*I'm a king jet pilot dropping poop on my critics.
*Blocked those criminal cases against me. Gimme $230 million.
*I "love" the East Wing. Tear it down.
*Let's shoot live missiles over a major highway.
*That escalator thing was a plot.

But we're the lunatics?

So apparently senators must now be notified in advance if their phone records are requested during the investigation of a crime. No one else, just senators. So they're free to crime and can't be investigated without notice. This is so wrong, but it's great for senators who want to commit crimes.

Thune gonna be like “promises made, promises kept, we held a vote!”
UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

No wonder that lunatic Milei is dancing along like an excitable child - his anti-government ramblings and policies came close to derailing the Argentinian economy until he was bailed out by a bigger government - the USA.

Milei is probably the direct inspiration for DOGE too.

This community, its people and their land will never be the same. They are not alone. Is this administration concerned or even listening? Doubtful.

Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

I was wondering this week whether the airlines were lobbying behind the scenes.
SHUTDOWN TAKEAWAY: send home as many federal employees as you want, cut off people's food stamps, let health care system career towards a cliff, but don't mess with air travel, especially with holidays looming.

Love him or hate him, Dick Cheney was VP of these United States. His passing would've prompted any other POTUS to respect the office and order flags at half-staff.

Not Donald J. Trump. So here in the Deep South, state facilities have lowered their flags. Everybody else is like...meh.

Assuming some of that evidence is video, this is exactly what we need. Most judges don't tolerate liars. Keep shooting and posting what you see, people.
Federal judge saying in open court that ICE and CBP lie so much she simply does not believe them—bc the evidence clearly show they are lying.

And to be clear: this is all too common police culture. Do something wrong, lie to cover it up.
Ellis acknowledges federal agents' assertions justifying thier use of force, but says, again,
"I don't find defendants' version of events credible."

NEW: Footage of a US citizen in Chicago being rammed then dragged from her car on her way to work.

Abducted, with no warrant, her family couldn’t find her for hours.

She was later released with NO CHARGE.

A DHS statement said she “violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers”.

"The ‘60 Minutes’ interview with Trump showcased everything that is wrong with US political interviews in general. The deferential tone. The lack of preparation. The failure to ask follow-up questions or dig deep into answers. The inability (unwillingness?) to fact-check in real time."
