Caught a Damien Dempsey show in Dublin two nights ago after being urged to do so by other Irish musicians I admire. Had no idea this sainted isle had created its own working-class Springsteen, complete with a devotional shout-along choir. Rock 'n' roll church that was. Grand.

I'm Jewish, proudly so. The hunger by some to hold exclusive title to persecution -- rather than accept that organized othering is ongoing -- is disappointing. A terror attack DOES NOT equate to a nationally sanctioned initiative such as the Shoah or American slavery. That's the historical analogy.
The use of "today's Jews" is incredibly crass a week out from a multi location spree shooting targetting Jews with 12 victims, and multiple people arrested for planning other attacks, while violence against Jew has been increasing for ten years and the government now denies antisemitism even exists.
