Dramatist, author, apostate newspaperman specializing in artisanal contempt and discerning maledicta. The claim that I am the angriest man in television is faint praise indeed; the second angriest is yelling at an agent because residual checks are late.
To be a NY Jets fan is a magical journey, is it not? Today was just another scenic view on the long and wondrous road to hell.

It seems that Epstein was pretty damn good at manufacturing consent.

AI slop is getting harder and harder to detect.

I'm no expert on search functionality, but is this a smoking hot gun as to the corruption of the process. Why redact "don't" in ordinary sentences? And why search for any name or moniker in the files? Shouldn't they be reading the documents and considering redaction issues on each person regardless?
Two copies of an innocuous email from the Epstein files. numbers visible in upper left). Note how on the first the word "don't" is redacted. WHY would a DOJ lawyer redact that word? No human would. But an AI PROGRAM searching for "Don T" would ignore the punctuation and auto-delete.

"Transformation."
Yeah, that's a word for it. Back to the British tabloids with his ass; he crossed the pond long enough to butcher one of the great grey ladies of journalism. What trash he proved to be.

I can only hope that they are stale and unsalted, as the sonsabitches deserve no better.
Just making sure that @audacityofdespair.bsky.social has seen these amazing photos. Much respect to the protesters that came up with this.
At Whipple where expired dicks are being thrown at ICE vehicles and those believed to be agitators. The area has been a place of protest since thousands of federal agents arrived in the city.

"Trump refuses to apologize" is the inevitable headline that follows every misdeed. Apologizing requires a measure of integrity, self-awareness and, yes, confidence. Deep down, this man knows he's a shitpiece. He's terrified that if he's seen admitting an error, he's exposed...

Impossible to respect people that allow themselves to be openly robbed on this level. From Congress to the courts to ordinary voters, Americans have become slow, stupid and pathetic -- a citizenry incapable of operating our once-promising experiment with self-governance.

We are, all of us, marks.
Donald Trump Jr, who has exactly zero experience or competence in manufacturing or defense, has received more than $600,000,000 in contracts from Pete Hegseth's "Department of War."

This. As I've been arguing for decades now in prose and on film, we are now living in a time when human beings are worth less. Some of us have more and feel empowered, but most are betrayed. And society is firmly structured for such.

This is entirely true. The policies being undertaken at the federal level are, issue by issue, deeply unpopular. But our electoral outcomes are corrupted by constitutional anachronisms, gerrymandering and organized voter suppression. Government by the people is farce.
In a democracy, we are supposed to feel like we have control over our lives because the people control the government.

But in the U.S., people feel like our lives are out of control because the people don’t control the federal government.

I have to concede, when human hypocrisy achieves its purest form, it has a strange and luminous beauty that defies explanation. It's something that would make Swift lift his quill or Kubrick, his camera.

Sonny Jurgensen has departed, and with him, a huge burgundy chunk of my childhood.

A favorite story: Late in his career, when pulled off the bench to run a 2-minute drill and pass to a game-winning TD, Jurgy told his huddle: "My only question is what're we gonna do with the extra forty seconds."

I have no surprise left to summon that Donald Trump felt no moral restraint when posting vile, juvenile and hideously racist imagery of President Obama and his wife.

I am, however, astonished that it remains up to this moment and the White House is even attempting to defend itself.

It really says something about our national descent that the President of the United States and the most damaged, onanistic submoron in the country are now, somehow, the same exact person.
Trump at National Prayer Breakfast: "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would've had a bad ego for the rest of my life. Now I really have a big ego. Beating these lunatics was incredible ... The first time they said I didn't win the popular vote. I did"

I confess this foaming, rabid conspiracy theory once sounded more to me like Occam's Flamethrower than Occam's Razor. The shorter logical distance seemed to be an indulged, self-obsessed, extremely affluent asshole who was caught, doomed and couldn't jail.

Nowadays, well, hand me the flamethrower.

“I have reason to believe he was killed because he was about to name names. I believe Present Trump authorized is murder.“

Our American horror show.
Kiddies who made it out of the ICE dungeon report sighting a schoolmate. Before this, the school district had no information on their whereabouts. The family has now been connected with a lawyer.

Youngsters who escape a govt dungeon are the only way to track abducted children? This is fine!
The two children who returned to MN today say they saw one of their Valley View schoolmates at a detention center in TX. This is a child whose family was last in contact with the school on January 9. No one has known where they were until now.

This is an insightful overview of the anti-Semitism now coursing through the New Right and the opportunism that powers it. Blame the Jews is currency that never fails to spend with shitheels and angry rubes, and well, they're the elemental audience for that political movement.
