UPDATE: DHS spokesperson now says “Border Patrol has no reports matching United States citizens taken into custody at 1AM on Sept 30th.”

Audio of OEMC dispatch that I obtained shows Border Patrol called CPD about two U.S. citizens they took into custody, however. What happened to those citizens?
DHS still can’t or won’t say what they did with the two U.S. citizens they detained on 9/30 and called CPD to request a vehicle for.

They first sent a statement about the South Shore raid—an entirely different incident—and when I asked again they sent this deeply unserious response.

Here’s how we should all be reporting on the spurious claims from these agencies that have repeatedly been caught in lies and exaggerations:

DHS spokespersons consistently give petulant, amateurish, deeply unserious responses to inquiries about extremely serious matters.
After @mandophotos.bsky.social photographed federal agents pointing rifles at 26th/Lawndale yesterday, I inquired with DHS about what threat had prompted them to pull weapons on a busy commercial strip (pictured). This is the response I got from a representative of the United States government.
