The truly maddening thing is that, unlike when I was a young man in science and the materials and engineering just weren’t there yet, the future is *right there.* The problem is *solved*. What’s holding us back is not just greed, but this bizarre nostalgia, an obsession with petro- masculinity.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Pay attention, Aotearoa New Zealand. This 🎯 UK comment is a must listen.
"Privatisation is a failed experiment which takes all our money and pays it out to shareholders."

Do we pay enough tax for good Public Services?

Can you see the problem?

They are not Public, so they will never be good no matter how much you spend.

Impressive example of what quality tailoring can do. A client came in with an asymmetrical pelvic tilt, a considerable spinal misalignment, a bent knee in one leg, and an overhanging tummy. But properly tailored trousers create a clean line. He now looks great.

So as I understand it politicians get a pay rise every year to keep up with inflation. This year it was 2-2.4%. Surely if this is a “just” country then every person working for the govt should also get that same pay rise. Including teachers, health professionals, cleaners etc etc.
