/4 But it’s perfectly reasonable to point out that the people who will wave the bloody shirt over this — the people who support Charlie Kirk — are evil hypocrites who endorse and excuse violence every day. Refraining from celebrating doesn’t mean tolerating bullshit.

You’re not wrong. At all. I just think people are also tired of being lectured about this. And that’s where a lot of the anger stems from, unfortunately, in the people’s feeds that are preaching it. Every single time a shooting happens — which happens alot now. Sigh.

Under the changes in HB 128, which went into effect on May 7, individuals who are 18 years old or older and have a current Utah concealed weapon permit (CWP) may carry a weapon on campus, including in an “open” fashion.

if you read the story (don’t, don’t give them the click, you see he DIDN’T GET IN TO COLUMBIA). Regardless of whether or not an Indian-Ugandan guy clicking those boxes is valid, it’s a fucking non-story.

I am being negatively polarized from “mostly fine, few dumb ideas, would probably have ranked him third” to a rabid pro-Zohran partisan by how fucking vile this shit is.
You know, when I heard that all of our personal data had been hacked, I didn't expect the first major use of it to be the NYT trying to fuck over Zohran but maybe I'm naive www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/n...

There is not a single person in the Democratic Party who is treating the death of USAID with the gravity it deserves. There’s no political issue more important than the death of 14 million people, but they’re just delivering boilerplate condemnations and nothing more.

would be dead by the next administration

this is what gets me. there is basically no chance that any worthwhile policy lasts beyond a single admin. the IRA barely lasted a couple of months into Trump's admin
The death of diplomacy and aid as a force for good is horrifying. Can you imagine today’s America supporting a Marshall plan?

The news isn’t being clear about this but to people hearing about these Minnesota shootings: Melissa Hortman is the Dem leader in the Minnesota House and was Speaker of the House 2019-2025. She’s probably the most influential state-level Democrat barring the governor.

Keep track of any Democrat or commentator or personality who advocates for Musk to be welcomed back into the fold. These are people you cannot trust and should be kept as far away from the levers of power as humanly possible.

This btw is why I find it annoying when people say that settlements in the West Bank have made a two state solution impossible. No they haven't. The most obvious last resort method for ending the settlement enterprise is to simply remove them.
The thing is that you can't alter demographic facts on the ground to try and create new political realities and it is broadly established in international law that if a Palestinian state is ever created it could choose to reverse those alterations through a straightforward deportation

vulgar marxism has taken a few real Ls of late, none bigger than RFK's confirmation
People really overestimated the power of capital in this administration
I'm not even a capital D Doomer, but boy does it gall me to recall the confidence with which, for example, a certain reasonably prominent account was confidently proclaiming that "Big Pharma" would stop RFK Jr's confirmation
