1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network.

As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.

On this day, 26 November 1942, the German ship SS Donau left Oslo with 532 Norwegian Jews on board, headed for Auschwitz. The youngest was four months old. A dark day in Norway’s history.

How should we mitigate risks to the electrical grid?

Earlier this month, J.D. Vance mentioned to Joe Rogan that we should have "a backup power transformer for every major system."

And it's a real problem, but it seems like that's not the right solution.

A #growth mindset entails always looking forward. After doubling my followers in three weeks, one might be tempted to ask "Is now the time to rock the boat with a new character bit?" but the advice I always give to junior colleagues:

Coffee has a social component in an isolating profession.
Coffee may be good for you, but that is not the point."

Telling me to shut up because this is a "privileged" position is a choice.

Even if true, wouldn't you prefer that the privileged person wants to stand up for your rights rather than giving up and letting the system fuck you over even worse?

Yeah. I am very much on the verge of just blocking people who say "meh, the rule of law no longer matters" or "they're just going to do what they want" etc.

They can try, but accepting it as given, means giving up.

Stop trying to make everyone give up fighting for basic rights.
I am trying to be patient because I 100% get that people are terrified but I am really struggling with all this knee-jerk public defeatism from other liberals and leftists right now

The history of BC's carbon tax includes plenty of details that are surprising and not widely known. That history is important cuz I think many who dislike carbon taxes things are opposed to things that are actually not true about them and in favour of things that are (but aren't obvious)
Good piece on the history of BC's Carbon Tax, and why we should shore it up rather than chop it down. Here's hoping it becomes foundational for an NDP-Green alliance and the province's future. www.biv.com/news/comment...
Opinion: History tells us that axing the carbon tax is a truly bad idea
