1. You may have heard of book bans before, but the new one in Alabama takes the cake.

The Alabama Public Library Service has a new proposal that would ban—get this—only "positive depictions" of trans people.

The hearing is next month. Public comment is open.

"Positive Depictions" Of Trans People Banned In Alabama State Libraries Proposal
The code change that has been proposed does not ban negative depictions of transgender people, however. Public comment is open until October 14.

Me: “One factor is the vast unidentified Autistic population that is at a >9x higher risk of death by suicide at a minimum!”

Also them: “You don’t look Autistic. Probably a bunch of dramatic lazy fucks.”

Internalised ableism is difficult to shake.

It’s to be expected when we grow up in a world that dehumanises us form the day we are born.

You’re not a bad person for having those thoughts from time to time or even all the time.

Focus on the system.

Mangrove loss to aquaculture threatens vital carbon storage. Protecting mangroves isn’t just about biodiversity—it’s key to preserving natural climate solutions.

My formal evaluations for autism spectrum disorder ultimately cost me $6,600

That is an *overwhelming* amount of privilege to access something I both desperately needed

and do not need, at all, any longer.

It was NOT wise to spend those funds but I’m not sure I would have survived not knowing. 🧵

Validation Study: Asynchronous ADHD Telehealth Assessments
Something pretty cool happened this week that I want to share with all of you. As you may already know, I conduct ADHD evaluations with ADHD Online/Mentavi Health. Mentavi's ADHD assessment allows clients to answer all clinical interview questions at their own pace and on their own time, and the results are analyzed asynchronously. This is huge for accessibility because guess who has a really hard time making and keeping an assessment appointment?
