Hello! I use this account to share books about autism or with Autistic characters that have been written by openly Autistic people.

At the end of each month I post a recap of each new release during the month (that I'm aware of). I also share posts from authors and readers.

To honor Alice—and all our disability ancestors—is to keep building that connective tissue she described. To love fiercely, politically, on purpose. To ensure the filaments they left behind continue to glow in us, and through us, long after the world has forgotten their names. We won’t.

Alice Wong taught us that disabled people don’t just leave memories behind—they leave infrastructure. Lineages of care. Methods of collectivity, survival. She named the connective tissue that holds our communities together, even across death, even across the losses that come too fast and too often.

Alice's tireless disability justice work was transformative for the entire disabled community. A heartbreaking loss ❤️
I am gutted to learn of @sfdirewolf.bsky.social (Alice Wong’s) passing. She was always a warm friend, a wonderful spirit, and someone who fostered my own growth. She helped me see that, as a #disabled person with chronic illness, I matter—I am whole. I’ll be posting some of Alice’s work. ❤️ forever

Some really important autistic history in this book, including @autisticadvocacy.org's involvement with the diagnostic changes from the DSM IV to DSM V (many people don't realise there was some input), and so much more!
Always a book I will recommend.
This open-access book marks the first historical overview of the autism rights branch of the neurodiversity movement, describing the activities & rationales of key leaders in their own words.

Didnt realise this was out but I read an early draft and it was the best thing i've read on neurodiversity in years. It surely got a lot better by the time it was published. I'm excited to read the final version.
In We See Things They’ll Never See, Chantelle Jessica Lewis and Jason Arday show how neurotypical hegemony reproduces a culture of exclusion—and how to overcome this with love, hope, and solidarity.

Can confirm--it's an excellent resource!
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.
Color Taste Texture by Matthew Broberg-Moffitt: 9780593538593 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books
An accessible family cookbook that offers solutions rather than tricks to empower the food-averse, autistic, and picky eater, with 46 recipes. This much-needed cookbook combines tips and techniques.....

honored to announce i have been awarded this years LOUD HANDS AWARD FOR AUTISTIC STORYTELLERS from @autisticadvocacy.org. much of my confidence to trot with this unique way is due to the autistic creators who came before, and to think i could pass that on and inspire others means so much. thank you
