Listening to these 8 Dem Senators explain their vote convinces me that they are either idiots or liars. Either is plausible.

On Wednesday, Conde Nast management illegally fired four union leaders. While our union fights these illegal dismissals, the “Fired Four” have been left with no severance or COBRA coverage. Please donate to help cover their living expenses at the link below.

GEO was sued under forced labor laws for operating ICE's "Voluntary Work Program," which pays $1 per day to people held in ICE detention who "voluntarily" cook, clean, and maintain a facility (which cuts GEO's costs). They wanted immunity because ICE authorized it. Here's how GEO's lawyer started.

I believe that we will win.
"After we win in November, we do not demobilize. The rich and corporate interests who tried to buy this election with the millions they stole from our pockets will want to see us fail.

We won’t let them." - Chi Ossé

Wall Street is doing fine. Which helps exactly no one except the wealthy. Of course, when AI collapses so does the stock market, because it's like 90% of the growth for the past couple years.

genuinely when you're online arguing that the graphs say the economy is good actually, what do you expect people to say? what is the end result you're hoping for? for everyone to stop complaining about their personal starvation, evictions and medical debt because a line is going up somewhere?

the fact that he puts himself in the line of fire all the goddam time is proof enough that his boo hoo victim bullshit should be completely disregarded but the moment will launched a campaign for public office made it fair game to attack his terrible ideas and expose why he should be kept from power

Since you're such a big fan of statistics, maybe you'd like to calculate what percentage of posts on your timeline consist of you quote-posting someone that you disagree with, and then go ahead and compare that behavior to what you're accusing me of here. lmk what you come up with

Why do philosophy people always assume that they’re so clever they can reason their way to all information, instead of having to bother actually learning facts and history

It's amazing to see someone uncritically agree with ancient right wing BS - "they can't be poor or hungry they have a fridge" - which even the squishiest of centrists used to call bunk, but Stancil sorts will dig up Roger Ailes to lick his maggoty feet cause they hate the poor that much.

Sure, my grandparents were able to use the same washer, dryer, fridge, and oven until they died from when they bought their house, but it wasn't also spyware that required a subscription so who really got the better quality appliances?

the stuff is better than your grandparents could possibly imagine and more people are buying it than ever before

people buying piles and piles of cheap shit isn't economic prosperity. hedonism treadmill lmfao
i wish it was possible to peer into the past to see if this hedonistic treadmill was as severe in past generations

like were people in the 1940s smugly talking about how the spread of electricity isn't good evidence of economic prosperity

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

And aside from the fact that they are much more shit in quality terms, and usually cannot be repaired, and are cheaper because we exploit human labor abroad, this is an AEI talking point, funded by Exxon and Purdue. So some of the evilest people on the planet. Probably fine.

how's the quality of the shoes btw
OK Wil’s point simplified. An e.g.

Back in the day a pair of shoes would cost a week’s wages. Let’s call it $1000

Today shoes are cheaper approx $100.

So today you could buy 10 pairs of shoes for a week’s wages.

Someone who can afford 10 pairs of shoes is richer than someone who can afford one.
