there are senators that represent states (durbin, duckworth, schiff) who's electorate's voted to legalize hemp and yet here they are voting to reverse the will of their constituents. this on top of their capitulation on the shutdown is confounding.
Here are the Senators who voted to criminalize hemp products:

We are literally mad about your failure to fight the real dangers.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Truly amazing that any time the democrats have to bite the bullet and do something that ruins countless lives, there's always *just* enough votes to get it done, but if there is a vote on something that would actually improve people's lives, they are always one vote short. Crazy how that happens.

Maybe Don’t Talk to the New York Times About Zohran Mamdani

Friendly reminder that Nancy was so afraid that AOC was gonna stop her insider trading that she whipped votes for Gerry Connolly from a hospital bed in Germany.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

At least guys like Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jeffries have removed any & all doubt about their feelings on the will of Democratic voters & the role of primaries. They want us to know that every incumbent can be challenged & if a center-right Dem wins, you don’t have to vote for them

harris courting dick/liz cheney and muzzling the "they're weird" rhetoric were just devastating self-owns. there is nothing reasonable to chase; cheney was an objective scumbag and war criminal who should have died in the hague.
while we're all dumping on horrific historical monster Dick Cheney I'd like to ask our liberal friends to pause for a moment of reflection on how actively chasing his endorsement cost Kamala Harris far more support from her supposed 'base' than it was ever going to earn from 'reasonable republicans'

- Democrats must make the Hard Choices to support candidates who can win, even if they have some Republican positions
- OK but what about this Mamdani fellow who is winning without Republican positions
- No! We must make the Hard Choices!!
The failure of the “blue no matter who” crowd to rally behind Mamdani really just lays the reality of that position bare, doesn’t it?
