had heard some good things but unfortunately the Toxic Avenger remake is awful. dull, painfully unfunny, and totally lacking any of the low-budget charm or mean-spirited unpleasantness that made the original stand out. i can see why the distributor was going to shelve it

just watched Weapons and i'm sorry to say that it did nothing for me. appreciate a mid-budget horror movie trying to do something a bit different and i'm glad it found an audience but i fundamentally don't think it worked at all

When I was in Auckland recently my dad and I walked around his old High School where the same 'temporary' prefabs were there that were set up when he was there over 50 years ago.
