Never trust a Tory or a Neoliberal

What we know about the coalition:

They will carry out their policies and the coalition agreement.
Everything else they say is lies.

Easy way to analyse any of their comments, media releases etc

Yep, wouldn't trust any of their assurances *at all*.

This is the same lot that made *election* promises about Dunedin hospital... oh wait, until they broke them. That their tax cuts were 'definitely costed'... oh wait, until forced to admit they weren't.

On and on their gaslighting goes.
I keep thinking about how Peters said the hīkoi was a waste of time because the bill isn't going to pass. But (a) I don't trust any of these arseholes to do what they say they will, and (b) if there was no pushback I'm sure Luxon et al would happily vote it through into law. #ToituTeTiriti #NZpol

Not my area of expertise but why is our consenting process so up front instead of staged? The process could span the whole build, with multiple touch points and finish with code of compliance. Eg initial approval in principle on plans only. Then detailed specs on founds and basic construction. 1/-

Not sure how you could face this time and time again and not think even just once, why do so many people protest this? Is it wrong? Are we the baddies?

This whole thread goes a long way to explain a) why NZ is a cesspit of white male mediocrity, and b) why the mediocre white males DESPISED Ardern

It's disgusting, abusive, misogyny as a cultural mindset.

The predatory groomer and rapist Tim Jago operating as party president of ACT for years, crowing on a podcast with Seymour about ‘victimhood’.

When we’re doing city planning, why aren’t we asking simpler questions? Like “How could your life be easier if your city or community were different?”
i just want my kids to be able to walk to the store to get stuff so I don't have to.

We rightly lament the abject mediocrity, deviousness, sexism, entitlement and abusiveness of NZs managerial and political class, but rarely connect this social problem to the ‘brain drain’.

What if we saw young people as future leaders who could do better, instead of driving them to Australia?

There have been many five alarm fires over the last couple of years but none so much as the Regulatory Standards Bill passing into law, following dissent from 98% of public submissions.
When you’re playing for permanent power, democracy means nothing, so I’ve backed those that still value it today 👇

There were 159,000 written submissions on the Regulatory Standards Bill (on top of over 23,000 submissions last year) - numbers that are second only to the Treaty Principles Bill in NZ’s history.

More than 98% of public submissions were opposed.

There’s a word for this, but it’s not democracy.

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

To avoid further instances of the irreparable harm that is caused by repeated infections of Covid-19, the masses must wake up from their current stupor of denial.

#COVID19
Most people are sleepwalking through the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19: shunning respirator masks, pretending that nothing untoward is happening, allowing themselves to be repeatedly infected. They are stumbling down a dangerous path that leads to serious illness and inevitable suffering.

Insecure men are afraid of women
Insecure men are afraid of women.

That is why they exploit us as children.

That is why they oppress us as adults.

They know we are stronger even than their abuses, so they make laws to protect themselves & disempower us.

My fellow survivors, do not forget: men are afraid of women.
