running around in circles with my arms out yelling "wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
kindest thing i will ever say about him is that he doesn't necessarily deserve to die, just to be crippled in such a way that he can never express a creative impulse again

i certainly didn't dislike it - there were some great performances and it was generally well put together but it all added up to nothing. no real engagement with the themes or characters or even a sense of genuine dread......just nothing

it was also too neat, too clean. most mysteries were solved straight after being set up, there was no room to sit in any of the ambiguities or uncertainties. what horror or dread is left once you've wrapped everything up and put a nice little bow on it?

the story structure must have looked really good on paper but in practice it sabotaged any momentum or attempts at tension building - essentially turning it into a series of vignettes that robbed the whole of any weight or impact

the vastness and the malevolence of the forces arrayed against basic concepts of community, social order, and a baseline of shared truth. not sure how we allowed this to all just happen

had high hopes for the 2006 Thai ghost story The Unseeable because director Wisit Sasanatieng is usually good but it was very middling

will have to try and watch something genuinely good tomorrow to make up for it
