The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world.
They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

The wealthiest people in the world did this. They took away the last link these children had to life for no good reason. It's truly sickening.

It's hard to watch a new season of Black Mirror when you've been living through a never-ending episode about fascism.

One thing I wish people understood about authoritarianism is life often looks more or less the same. Troops aren’t marching down the street every day; people go to restaurants, have their office jobs. But everyone knows that stepping out of line, even slightly, can derail your life with no recourse

The first episode of BLACK MIRROR season 7 is brutal because it's so believable. Ooof. Unfortunately, Musk, the GOP and the broligarchy will use it for ideas.

I have a trade deficit with Walmart. I buy all my groceries from them, but they never buy anything from me.

So I’ve decided to set 20% of what I spend with them on fire to encourage me to make my own groceries.

The reason the U.S. runs trade deficits with so many countries is simple: it's wealthy. Being rich means it can afford to buy more goods from other nations than it exports.

It’s akin to accusing your bartender of unfair trade because you buy more drinks from him than he buys from you.🤦
This is nonsense

The irony of Americans electing a fascist because they were more concerned about getting lower grocery prices than saving democracy and then they end up losing democracy AND getting higher grocery prices 🤦🏽‍♂️
Coffee, shrimp, other foods could soar with Trump tariffs
The food hit hardest, if the tariffs take effect, is mostly not grown or harvested in the U.S.

European leaders must state that Ukraine should win the war, and they must also state what that means:
1. Russia pushed out of Ukraine
2. Russia paying reparations to Ukraine
3. All deported Ukrainians, POWs, brought back to Ukraine
4. All Russian war criminals handed over to justice
etc.

If only we had some sort of space plane that was reusable. You know, with wings and stuff. It could glide back to earth under the control of a pilot and land on a runway. Oh, we had something that that but they were all retired!
