For Ottawa, the sovereignty threat is real. In backing Greenland’s sovereignty, Canada aims not only to affirm the principle of self-determination but also to reinforce its own sovereignty over all parts of Canada. The last thing they want is for one of the Premieres to get a personal invite to DC.
With the U.S. threatening to take over the Arctic island, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said she shared the federal government's full support for the sovereignty of Greenland in a conversation with the Danish foreign minister.

It can get overwhelming with so many unprecedented things happening seemingly all at once. We get it. But you are not alone; now is the time to get involved. Find 1 or 2 issues you are passionate about, look for others w/the same passion, and speak up & act together with one voice. #DemocracyMatters

If society cracks down on extremism, they win. If society doesn't crack down, they also win. The way forward isn’t fear or force alone, it’s building resilient communities, defending shared values openly, & refusing to let extremists define the rules of our public life. Choose confidence over panic.

The U.S. "Space Force" installation in Greenland is called Pituffik(place where we tie our dogs in Greenlandic) Space Base. The site is used primarily by the U.S. as a key node in its missile early-warning network and as a strategic listening post to monitor the occasional Russian sub.

Here's an interesting and often overlooked piece of history: During World War II, the United States occupied Greenland to prevent the German use of the territory after Denmark fell, and U.S. forces have remained there ever since, despite Danish objections.

This is "Lebensraum" in modern dress. It was wrong when Hitler first espoused this malignant and corrupt ideology back during WWII; it is wrong now. You don't take land from an ally. Period.

The Catholic Church used to sell indulgences; now, the US sell pardons to the highest bidder through a series of middlemen. The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves. Thanks, John Roberts.
