two contradictory ideas that i hold in my head at the same time: 1) i think the threat to both SNAP recipients and federal workers is significant enough now that even bad deals are worth making to prevent further harm, and, 2) everyone who caves now should retire in shame

Rent controls that make it less profitable to rent ought to exist and be combined with vacancy taxes making it deeply unprofitable to not rent, AND with a standardised financial vehicle for co-op purchase of large properties, as a three-part assault on landlording.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

a lot of people are finally waking up to the importance of the 3rd amendment. As a 3A absolutist, i think it should be illegal for soldiers to be quartered anywhere in this country. they should be camping under the open sky at all times. all military bases and barracks are unconstitutional.
