Hello hello I'm Aaron Lim (he/him), a gamemaker based in PJ, Malaysia.

I made An Altogether Different River, Spectres of Brocken, and shitposts like Baby's First RPG, which you can find at ehronlime.itch.io.

I also organize a fortnightly online TTRPG playtesting meetup, Playtest Zero, on Discord.

Oh I forgot to properly shout out the Survivor/Two Rooms and a Boom inspired Discord game I mentioned in this - Factions, by @doougle.net and co.
Me, @ehronlime.bsky.social, and @aaronmfking.bsky.social have stepped from the shadows to make the Council of Aarons public. We pass judgement on 3 Harvests, and evaluate the course of 2025--at least in tabletop games.

“no one owes you a game you can complete, they just make sure you don’t fail for the wrong reasons” is maybe the most succinct way to convey exactly how i feel about accessibility and its purpose. bring everyone to the same starting line with the tools needed to meet the intent of the game.

"Let me make sure there is colorblind options, lemme make sure their is support for larger text support if I can" and yeah sometimes you get some Celeste style options, but no one owes you a game you can complete. They just might also make sure you don't fail for the wrong reasons.

In terms of practical outcomes, there's basically no difference between porn worldbuilding and non-porn worldbuilding. I know a person who developed a lifelong interest in civic engineering after trying to calculate how much semen would be required to overwhelm their home town's storm drain system.

Volume one of Doraemon or a printed copy of the full Magic the Gathering comprehensive rules.
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

For those following along, here's the bit from the ARS DMCA takedown notice sent to BGG that demonstrates one of the problems creating a weak public domain.

ARS doesn't have to identify the expiration of the copyright. They can continue to claim it as long as it's impossible to prove otherwise.

Next year I am aiming to finish, if not publish, Eutopea's Wake, a new project. A sort of alternate history 1930s morality/ideology game.

2026 is gonna be the year of not putting off watching stuff "at a better time" because there is no better time, and someone recently said that the sooner you get to know something you like, the more time you will get to spend with it in your life 🔥

1. stop where you are
2. identify which 2 objects within arm's reach most & least belong there (objects A and Z respectively)
3. think of the most logical, useful place to move object Z
4. don't do that
5. put object A there instead there
I need everyone to make a shitpost game that fits into at most 3 posts on here before the end of the year otherwise thr sun will not rise again
Not enough shitpost games though

Read more serendipitously. Don't assign yourself a long list of titles to never look at. Instead, be open to the possibilities that occur ambiently during daily life. You are visiting a friend and they are busy with something trivial - open one of their books and have your life changed forever
I've seen a few people posting stuff along the lines of "2026 is the year I'm going to read more!"

My friend, don't pressure yourself. Even as an author, I say this: Read better, not more. Read what you love, stop reading something that isn't working for you. Don't aim for more, aim for pleasure.
