#Ttrpgs are potatoes, not carrots. There is no one true taproot origin story for any game, ttrpg or otherwise. Instead, all the nodes of experience & culture & family & etc etc go into whatever eventually springs forth. The interconnected web of all that came before contributes to whatever is "new."

Yesterday I went to a great concert by the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America, an ensemble of 12 bandura players and 24 male singers who played new and traditional Ukrainian songs on the bandura, a Ukranian folk instrument with an impressive number of strings and an incredible history.
