“When the bridge closed, about 25,000 vehicles crossed it daily… Six years later, 9,000 of those journeys have vanished - not diverted to other crossings, but simply evaporated. Yet the local economy has adapted, air quality has improved, and overall traffic congestion has lessened.”
I really cannot recommend this excellent piece on Hammersmith Bridge highly enough

I apologise for this, but I need everyone to join me in a rousing internal chorus of Where's the money from? to the tune of chirpy chirpy cheep cheep.
Because I shouldn't suffer alone and the Mail's last bid for the telegraph was funded by Qatar and Abu Dhabi I think
Daily Mail's parent company agrees a deal to buy Telegraph for £500m! Media consolidation, let's go, ya gonna blink and stop this competition regulators? Over to you, Nandy? Strong potential everyone just waves the sale through to STOP HAVING TO READ OR THINK ABOUT IT. www.ft.com/content/cd8e...

Before choosing bottled water over tap water, remember it takes more than 10X the water that a bottle of water holds to make the plastic bottle and transport the water. And that’s before considering the fuel and GHGs, the 1000 year bottle life, and the RIDICULOUS amount of $ we’re paying for water.

Suggesting that science is or has “orthodoxy” is a fundamental misunderstanding.
Orthodoxy implies unquestionable dogma.
Science doesn't work like that: it’s a method designed to question, test, and revise if necessary.
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

For more than two decades, scientists have studied whether vaccines cause autism. The answer has been consistent: there’s no evidence they do.

I compiled a list of 14 studies, covering more than 10 million children, that find no link between vaccines and autism.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Ooh - these are wise words…..
Working toward the good does not mean attacking what has been. Nonviolent communication is a powerful tool stemming from the realization that we can create change for ourselves & each other w/o fighting. The warrior does this thru staying present while modeling the way forward. bit.ly/4hkaVA6

Unlike politics, there’s no such thing as public health centrism. It’s evidence-based radicalism. It’s all about change towards health justice and equity, not tinkering around the edges trying to keep everyone happy. Such notions, my friends, are rather radical and there’s no shame in that.
